These painting owe a great debt to Australian Aboriginal artist whom I love. The dreamtime refers to their particular religion. For me it implies a liminal space where the imagination is activated and anything is possible. Many of these paintings include two animals or birds. I can't explain this but it feels right to me. Aitken Roshi's quote matches my feeling about this series: "Our (spiritual) practice is not to clear up the mystery. It is to make the mystery clear."
